First Day in Bohol, First Pictures

This blogger arrived in Bohol noontime of March 26, 2002 and, later in the afternoon, joined the Stations of the Cross of the last Friday of Lent.

And these are his first cellphone pictures.

The balayong flower was in full bloom as we "walked" our Station of the Cross.

Immaculate Conception Chapel, Bohol

These are some of the structures you will see when you get to Bohol: the room of Ma'am Elvie Magbanua Mondragon, Master Teacher 2 for Grade 1 pupils, an old house near the chapel, the gate of the Bohol Elementary School and the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception in Bohol.

Introducing Bohol, Dumaran, Palawan

This blogger spent his Holy Week in Bohol, Dumaran, Palawan.

Barangay Bohol is one of the chapels of the Parish of St. John the Baptist which has its main parish church in Barangay Poblacion, Dumaran. Through the kindness of its Parish Priest, however, Rev. Fr. Neil Bacones, and the magnanimity of its Chapel Pastoral Council, led by Master Teacher 2 Ma'am Elvie Mondragon and her husband, Noli Mondragon, this blogger had the privileged opportunity of being with the Faithful of Barangay Bohol and even its nearby barangays, Dobdob and Calasag Holy Week of 2010.

Bohol's patron is the Immaculate Conception and celebrates its fiesta on December 8. With many of its residents coming from Cuyo, Dumaran, however, August 28 is also considered a fiesta -- St. Augustine being the Patron Saint of Cuyo, Palawan, their place of origin.

According to Wikipedia, the town of Dumaran is "a 2nd class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 16,616 people in 3,133 households."

And it has 20 barangays, namely: Bacao, Bohol, Calasag, Capayas, Catama, Catep, Culasian, Danleg, Dumaran (Pob.), Itangil, Ilian, Latongay, Magsaysay, San Juan, Santa Teresita, Santo Tomas, Tagumpay, Tanatanaon, Santa Maria, and Villa Ferma.
